The University of Minnesota Volleyball Program has joined the ranks of the elite — Big Ten Conference champions in 2002, NCAA Finalist in 2004, NCAA Final Four participants in 2003 and 2009, and numerous other NCAA tournament appearances. We’re competing with the nation’s best programs, but it’s not just on the court where that competition occurs.
To stay in this elite group, the Gophers need to recruit the best student-athletes. Along with a first class education, and first class coaching, we need to offer first class facilities and capabilities. This comes at a time when the state and the university are asking the sports programs — and the booster clubs — to shoulder more costs. We use a portion of our membership dues and other fundraising events to help fund the volleyball program, but it’s only part of what is needed to support the program at the level it needs to be.
Here’s how you can donate
- Point U! Boosters
Become a member. In addition, we can help coordinate your tax-deductible donation to the Golden Gopher Fund. We could also use your help as a volunteer at one of our fundraisers, which directly benefit the volleyball program. For more information, contact us.
- Golden Gopher Fund: Volleyball Service Fund
If you would like to donate directly to the University Volleyball Program, you can find out more or make a donation online through the University’s Golden Gopher Fund page.
- Mike Hebert Endowed Scholarship
As a retirement gift in 2011, several supporters of the volleyball and athletic departments began a named, endowed scholarship in honor of former coach Hebert. This scholarship fund continues to accept gifts in order to build it to a fully funded level. While you currently can’t donate online toward a specific endowed scholarship, you can donate by contacting the Golden Gopher Fund office directly at 612-626-GOLD (4653) or via email at email@example.com. Or you can mail gifts directly to them at:
